We primarily use a permethrin based pesticide named Dragnet. This product is regulated by Health Canada Pest Management Regulatory Agency and Provincially under the Pesticides Act. As an alternative, we do offer an all-natural repellent product as well however generally recommend the pesticide as better results are expected. Pest Control
We do ask everyone and pets stay inside while we are spraying the product. Once the product is dried (generally 30min to 1 hour – weather dependent) there is little opportunity for the product to transfer to people or pets that brush against it.
No. We will notify you at least 24 hours before your treatment. If you are home, we will check in and check out with you. Either way, we will leave notice that your yard has been protected by Mosquito Terminator. The Ontario Pesticides Act under the Ontario Regulation 63/09 section 81 requires exterminators to post signs to warn or provide notice to persons that the pesticides have been used.
If the application was done during a humid day, it could take a day or two. If it was done during a warm dry sunny day, it could have an immediate effect. Essentially the mosquitoes need to go to their “hidding” spots (trees, shrubs, vegetation) in order to hide from the heat/sun.
As long as your yard has had adequate time to dry and bind to the plants after the application of your treatment, normal rain should not impact the effectiveness of our service.
Unfortunately no service can offer 100% reduction of mosquitoes. However, you should expect a great reduction that will allow you to enjoy the outdoors! Although everyone has a difference tolerance level and depending on your surroundings, it could be expected to still see mosquitoes during dusk.
Unfortunately as there are multiple variables that can affect the return rate of mosquitoes, we can’t offer any official guarantee. These variables include things such as: surrounding stagnent water near your property, amount of forested untreated areas and weather such as humidity. We do however guarantee that the correct amount of pesticide is used and our licenced technicians do the best job possible in order to get the best results possible as our full intention is to get life long clients and keep them happy!
